Why I want to write this blog

Hello to all my family and friends,

This first post might be short, but I would like to address a few things. I might not get everything I am thinking down right now, and this is not going to be the post where I tell the whole story about the whole pregnancy. I want to tell that story but I just need to figure it all out and how I want to write it! I have learned not to hold anything back and I want to tell you everything: what the Doctors told me, how I felt, how we fought for her and everything we had to go through. It’s a lot and I want to make sure I do it justice. I want to make sure that if anyone reads my story and goes through the same thing that they will fight for their child. I should say this though: the Doctors names will be changed because I am not writing this to shame Doctors, but to let other parents know that it’s okay to fight for your child. I also want to thank everyone who has prayed for our daughter, because by the power of prayer we have her in our arms today!

With this being said lets do a quick update on little Miss Abigail. She is doing so well! No lie- she acts like a normal baby. She is putting the weight on- she is now 10 pounds at 7 weeks old. She has had a good amount of appointments; her regular monthly check up, where her doctor said she is doing great with weight, height and overall growing. Next, she had a neurology appointment, and the neurologist said that she is very impressed with Abigail and she thinks that she will have no set backs. If she does it would be in school but nothing that she couldn't over come. Then, her last appointment was cranial facial. They also thought that she is doing great- especially with her gaining weight and drinking from a bottle with no extra help. Dr. H, her actual surgeon, said she is doing great. Kids with clefts usually need tape across the cleft to help stretch the skin, but he said she doesn't need it. He said he would like to do her surgeries in July or August and it will be a little more than just the lip. She will have her lip done, the front part of her palette and some of her nose.
Thank you for all the prayers, Please keep them coming.

Love,
Mother of a mircle.
